I get my background information cross-referencing newspaper articles, magazine articles (sadly, two of the best--Starlog and Premiere--aren't digitized, all that great coverage lost in the '80s unless I order back issues on eBay), website articles, books, behind-the-scenes documentaries and increasingly, podcasts. The AFI provides some basic but informative production history on nearly all of these films that I rely on more than I would Wikipedia and I'll search those keywords for more information.
